History > Who we areWho are weCD’s Helping Hands is a West of Ireland Childrens’ Cancer Charity. We are a unique voluntary organization in that we are the only Charity in the West that supports children and their families through cancer treatment.
The Charity was inspired by its namesake, Caitlin Doherty (CD) who was diagnosed with Leukaemia at the age of two and a half. Folowing treatment, Caitlin is now a lively little girl living in Claregalway, Co Galway.
Our GoalThe charities main objective is to provide practical support to families in the West of Ireland who are affected by a diagnosis of childhood cancer.
CD's Helping Hands aim to minimise this impact on families by allowing them that precious time to care.
